SIA Submits Comments to the SEC on the Proposed NASD Rule Addressing Fairness Opinions

The Fairness Opinion Task Force of the Capital Markets Committee of the Securities Industry Association (SIA)*provides commentsto Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)on the proposed National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Rule addressing fairness opinions, File No. SR–NASD-2005-080; Release No. 34-53598. SIA believes the language of the proposed disclosure requirements should be clarified to provide adequate guidance to NASD members.
