The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on a proposed amendment to NYSE Rule 342 (Offices-Approval, Supervision and Control), which would provide for a new definition of the term “branch office.” SIA shares serious concerns about the provision that suggests a primary residence of an associated person used for more that 50 business days a year is a branch office.
