SEC Draft Solicitation to Individual Customers

Published on:
July 19, 2006

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on a SEC request for information (RFI) on a draft solicitation to individual customers.  The SEC is compiling certain data pertaining to the marketing, sale and delivery of financial services and products to individual investors by broker-dealers and investment advisers.  SIA applauds the Commission for recognizing that the initial step in the study process should be to obtain a better understanding of how such products are marketed, sold and delivered.

*SIFMA is the product of a merger between the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and The Bond Market Association (TBMA) in 2006.
