SIA Submits Comments to the SEC on Disclosure and Consent Requirements
The Securities Industry Association’s (SIA’s)* Self Regulation and Supervisory Practices Committeeprovidescomments to the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC)on the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc.(NASD) proposal relating todisclosure and consent requirements when trading on a net basis with a customer, File No. SR–NASD-2004-135. SIA’s Committee believes that the changes in the markets over the previous decade and the resulting changes in the way broker-dealers charge for services may render the proposed rule either unnecessary or in need of revision.
