SIA Submits Comments to the SEC on Deterring Microcap Fraud

The Federal Regulation Committee and Self-Regulation Committee of the Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provide comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on proposed amendments tocertain SEC rules in an attempt to combat microcap fraud, Release No. 34-39455. SIA believes the proposal currently contains some flaws that could inadvertently work against its purpose of deterring microcap fraud. SIA offers recommendations that would make the proposal an effective tool against microcap fraud.
