The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on a request for withdrawal of certificates by issuers, File No. SR-DTC-2003-02. SIA believes the Depository Trust Company’s (DTC) rule change concerning requests for withdrawal of certificates by issuers is consistent with the objectives of SIA’s straight through processing (STP) program. The goal of this program is to minimize and eventually eliminate the use of physical certificates.

*SIFMA is the product of a merger between the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and The Bond Merger Association (TBMA) in 2006.
