The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on a proposal relating to the Nasdaq petition concerning the regulation of Nasdaq-listedsecurities, Release No. 34-47849; File No. S7-11-03. SIA believes theSEC should ensure parallel and consistent regulation across markets by establishing certain minimum standards for all trading venues. The cost of regulation should be transparent and equitably allocated across all markets. SIA believes alternative models that improve upon the existing self-regulatory schemes should be explored.
