SIA Submits Comments to the SEC on a Proposal Relating to NASD’s Corporate Financing Rule
The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Securitiesand Exchange Commission (SEC) on a notice of filing of proposed rule change by National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD) relating to its corporate financing rule, SR-NASD-00-04. SIA strongly agrees that the rule should accommodate the legitimate advisory and investing activities of NASD members while continuing to protect investors from unreasonable underwriting activities. But, SIA notes that these goals can be achieved through a more narrowly tailored rule.
