The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to theSecurities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on a proposed rule change regarding the arbitration of employment discrimination claims, File No. SR-NYSE-98-28. SIA believes the proposed rule is not in accord with prevailing judicial precedent, and shares concerns that the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has proposed such a significant rule change without any attempt to adhere to the usual protocol of soliciting comment from NYSE’s own membership.
