SIA Submits Comments to the NASD on Expungement of Central Registration Depository Information

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to theNational Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD) on proposed rules and policies for the expungement of information from the NASD Regulation’s Central Registration Depository (CRD), including erroneous and/or unfounded customer dispute information, NASD Notice to Members 01-65. SIA cannot support the expungement procedures enumerated in the Notice, since it believes they are burdensome, inefficient, and unfair.
