SIA Submits Comments to the IRS on Proposals Relating to New Comparability Plans

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)*providescomments to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)on issues raised by “new comparability” plans, IRS Notice 2000-14. SIA strongly urges the IRS to proceed cautiously before considering any amendment to the nondiscrimination regulations. SIA also warns that absent compelling evidence of broad-based and actual abuse, no action should be taken.
