SIA Submits Comments to the IRS on Interest Expense Allocation

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on whether the interest expense allocation and apportionment rules of certain sections of the Income Tax Regulations should be modified to provide integrated treatment of certain financial transactions, Internal RevenueNotice 2001-59. SIA shares their views including whether this limited integration rule should be made applicable for financial services entities.
