Proposed Model Qualified Intermediary Agreement

The Tax Compliance and Administration Committee of the Securities Industry Association (SIA)* proposes a model qualified intermediary agreement (the Model Agreement) that would apply to foreign branches and foreign affiliates of U.S. financial institutions.  SIA notes the the Model Agreement conforms to the requirements of Internal Revenue Procedure 98-27 in many respects, and details the reasons for any departure from those requirements in certain situations.
