SIA and Other Associations Submit Comments to the SEC on a Proposed Regulation on Selective Disclosure

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)*, the American Electronics Association, theFutures Industry Association (FIA), theInstitute of International Bankers (IIB), andThe Bond Market Association (TBMA)*to the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) onproposed Regulation FD relating to selective disclosure,File No. S7-31. The groups contend that proposed Regulation FD, while well-intentioned, could prove to be a setback for the free flow of corporate information to the markets.
*SIFMA is the product of a merger between the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and The Bond Market Association (TBMA) in 2006.
