SIA and FIA Submit Comments to the SEC on Broker-Dealer Best Execution Obligations with Respect to Security Futures

The Steering Committee on Security Futures of the Securities IndustryAssociation (SIA)* and the Futures Industry Association (FIA) provide comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission on the National Futures Association (NFA)proposed interpretive notice to NFA Compliance Rule 2-4 regarding broker-dealer best execution obligations with respect to security futures, Release No. 34-45720, SEC File No. SR-NFA-2002-02. The groups express their strong reservations with respect to the application of a best execution obligation under certain circumstances contemplated by the rule.
