Banking Supervision Regarding Proposals to Strengthen Global Capital & Liquidity Regulations

The Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA)*, the British Bankers’ Association (BBA), and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) provide comments to the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision regarding consultations BCBS 164, strengthening the resilience of the banking sector, and BCBS 165, international framework for liquidity risk measurement, standards and monitoring. The communication urges the Basel Committee to engage in a further round of consultation with the industry, following the quantitative impact study and the assessment of broader economic impacts provided the importance of agreeing the structure of the regulatory framework by the end of this year and the detail and calibration over a longer time horizon.
