Uri Benjamin

Partner/Principal, Information Reporting and Withholding, Tax Technology & Transformation, Ernst & Young

Uri is a New York-based Partner/Principal with over 20 years of experience serving financial services institutions in banking and capital markets, wealth and asset management, and digital asset brokers. Uri focuses on the full Information Reporting and Withholding (IRW) lifecycle with a concentration in cost basis and tax reporting (1099 and 1042-S). Most recently Uri has concentrated on assisting clients with tax documentation, withholding, cost basis reporting and tax reporting implementations, functional assessments, development of target operating models and business requirements. Additionally, he has focused on leading the development of EY’s proprietary solutions that support multiple IRW functions.

Uri heads transformation for the Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) Customer Tax and Reporting Operations (CTORS) practice within the Financial Services Organization of Tax Technology & Transformation, where he leads teams to design, implement and transformation services. Uri has led multiple tax-focused projects with the primary objective of establishing compliance and process improvement, often liaising with tax operations, technology, and corporate tax teams.

Prior to joining EY US, Uri held positions in operations at various financial institutions, including Barclays, Janney and Merrill Lynch.
