Susan Saltzstein

Co-Head Complex Litigation and Trials Group, Skadden

Susan Saltzstein is co-head of Skadden’s Complex Litigation and Trials Group in New York — the first woman in firm history to serve in this leadership role. She serves as co-deputy of Skadden’s top-ranked nationwide Securities Litigation Group, which was named one of The BTI Consulting Group’s 2025 Fearsome Foursome — the top four firms that clients “don’t want to litigate against.” Ms. Saltzstein’s sophisticated litigation practice focuses on the representation of U.S. and global corporations (public and private), financial institutions and individual clients embroiled in complex litigation in federal and state courts. In recognition of her work, Ms. Saltzstein has been honored by numerous legal industry rankings and publications, including Chambers USA as one of the first two women securities litigators ever to be ranked in Band 1 (its top tier), Law360 as a Securities MVP and Lawdragon as one of its Legends of Law, among many other accolades. Ms. Saltzstein is the Second Circuit appointee to the Standing Committee of the Federal Judiciary, which is responsible for rating all prospective nominees, including Supreme Court justices, to the federal bench. She also serves as co-chair of the Cambridge Forum on Securities Litigation. Ms. Saltzstein has served on Skadden’s management committees including the Policy and Compensation committees.
