Steve Hurd

Associate General Counsel, Private Client Group Raymond James

Steve advises the Private Client Group at Raymond James on a range of legal matters including Regulation Best Interest and other applicable conduct standards; AML and Economic Sanctions; cash solutions; and cross-border and international matters.  From 2007-18, he was an Associate General Counsel with UBS, focusing on UBS’ Private Wealth Management and cross-border and international wealth management operations. Prior to that, he had seven years of transactional and litigation experience as an associate and partner at Sherrard, Roe, Voigt & Harbison in Nashville, Tennessee.

Steve received both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University (with a five-year interlude studying scorpions, spiders, and insects in Baja California). After law school, he served as a clerk for the Honorable Douglas H. Ginsburg of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He is a member of the state bars of Florida and Tennessee.
