Sarah Cole is an Executive Director, Assistant General Counsel and Head of Technology, Operations & Procurement Legal at SMBC, Americas. Sarah leads a team of senior attorneys and advises on third party risk and regulatory requirements, data licensing and intellectual property issues related to technology and operations, including AI. Sarah is a member of SMBC’s AI governance committee and advises on applicable legal issues.
Formerly an Executive Director in the New York office of Morgan Stanley’s Global Technology & Data Legal group, Sarah advised on complex global technology transactions, focusing on AI. Sarah was lead attorney for AI governance at Morgan Stanley globally, providing advice on AI related legal, regulatory and risk issues.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Sarah was a Technology Associate at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, in London.
Sarah studied postgraduate law (LPC) at the College of Law, London and undergraduate law (LLB) at the University of Warwick.
