Ruth Arnould is Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Bank of America (BofA) in New York. Ms. Arnould has been an attorney in BofA’s fixed income legal group since 2013 and currently manages a global team in her capacity as BofA Legal’s Global Head of Fixed Income Derivatives, Digital Strategy, Clearing and Financial Market Utilities and Fixed Income Prime Brokerage. She is deeply engaged in derivative regulatory reform issues that impact the fixed income and clearing businesses.

Ruth previously served as Co-President of Futures Industry Association’s Law & Compliance Executive Committee and Chair of the Derivatives and Structured Products Committee of the New York State Bar Association. She also currently sits on CFTC’s Market Risk Advisory Committee’s sub-committee on Central Counterparty Risk and Governance. She is a frequent speaker at ISDA, FIA, ABA and SIFMA conferences on clearing, derivatives and regulatory issues. She is also a contributing author to “OTC Derivatives Regulation Under Dodd Frank: A Guide to Registration, Reporting, Business Conduct and Clearing” for the last several years.

She was in private practice advising on derivatives and complex collateral and structured finance transactions in New Zealand, Australia and London before moving to New York and joining Bank of America. She received a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) and Bachelors of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is admitted as a solicitor in New York, New Zealand, New South Wales, Australia and England and Wales.
