Patrick Chavez is the Chief Privacy Officer and an Associate General Counsel for Edward Jones. In this capacity, he leads the firm’s privacy efforts and develops and implements policies and processes related to preparing for and responding to cyber and non-cyber incidents. Patrick is also responsible for overseeing Edward Jones’ Records and Information Management program, and he provides legal guidance and advice to the firm’s business areas on matters related to eDiscovery, privacy, cybersecurity, and information governance.
Patrick is a 1998 graduate of Washington University School of Law. He is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production and Working Group 11 on Data Security and Privacy Liability. As a CIPP/US, Patrick is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and he is a Certified Information Governance Professional through ARMA International.
