Michelle Danis is the Assistant Director of the Risk Supervised Broker-Dealer (“RSBD”) Program in the Division of Trading and Markets. The RSBD Program reviews the internal risk management controls used by broker-dealers authorized to utilize internal statistical models in their net capital computations. In addition, RSBD performs ongoing reviews of financial reporting by security-based swap dealers. Prior to joining the SEC in 2004, she was an Economist with the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight and the Census Bureau. She received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
