Mike Silva

Chief Compliance Officer Americas UBS

Mike Silva is the UBS Chief Compliance Officer for the Americas.  Mike came to UBS from the law firm DLA Piper, where he was a partner and chair of the Financial Services Regulatory practice. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Mike served as GE Capital’s Global Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Leader. Mike also spent twent-one years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where his roles included serving as the NY Fed’s lead international lawyer, as chief of staff to then-president Tim Geithner (including during the financial crisis) and as the NY Fed’s senior supervisory officer for Goldman Sachs. Mike is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Columbia Law School, and the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. Prior to attending law school, Mike served for seven years as a Naval Flight Officer flying F-14 Tomcats and is a graduate of the Navy’s Advanced Fighter Weapons School (a.k.a, TOPGUN).
