Marni R. Gibson
Commissioner & Securities Administrator, Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions
Marni Rock Gibson has over twenty-five years of experience in the financial services sector and its regulation. After spending time in the industry, she joined the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions in 2009. Marni has supervised all three divisions within the agency as well as served in the role of Deputy Commissioner for many years. She was appointed Commissioner in September 2023.
During her time with the department, Ms. Gibson has served on numerous national committees and working groups across the financial services spectrum. In 2024, Marni was voted the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) President-Elect after serving three terms on the Board of Directors. She began her term as NASAA President in September 2025. In addition, Marni is a board member on the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission, Governor Beshear’s Team Kentucky Medical Cannabis Working Group, and Eastern Kentucky University’s Banking Program Advisory Committee.
