Mark Matthews
Managing Director, Global Head of Wholesale Operations, Nomura
Mark Matthews is the Global Head of Wholesale Operations at Nomura and is focused on Operations transformation and excellence through the application of organizational design, data analytics and technology strategy.
Prior to joining Nomura in 2022, Mark held senior roles at Deutsche Bank during his 15-year career there. Mark held global roles in Global Markets, and both the Chief Information and Chief Operating divisions. He was the Global COO for the Prime Finance business and later Credit & Rates Trading. Mark then moved on to become Global Operations Head for the Corporate & Investment Bank as well as the Americas head of the Chief Operating Office division, driving global strategy across multiple infrastructure functions.
Mark began his career at JP Morgan upon graduating with a degree in Business Management from Hofstra University. Before a decade at Citigroup, where he held leadership positions including a role as Chief Technology Officer for Global Markets & Banking Operations, Mark was also at ING Barings and Lehman Bothers.
Mark is based in New York and has served various industry committees and forums.
