Lisa Merklin Lewis is Vice President and Chief Counsel of the Employment Law Group in the General Counsel’s Office at Ameriprise Financial, Inc. She provides legal support to Human Resources and management concerning a wide variety of employment-related matters.

Prior to coming to Ameriprise Financial, Ms. Lewis was in-house employment counsel for ING Americas US Legal Services. Ms. Lewis has also been a litigation associate at Meagher & Geer, PLLP, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Ms. Lewis received her bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College, a Ph.D. in Medieval History from Cornell University, and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
