Lana Strykova-Lazier

Director, Tax Counsel, RBC

Lana Strykova-Lazier is a Director U.S. Tax Information Reporting and Withholding function at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). In this role, she oversees U.S. tax information reporting compliance across all RBC group’s entities in the United States and leads advisory services for global capital markets activities under the FATCA, CRS, QI and QDD regimes.

With over 15 years of experience in technical tax compliance, consulting, and operations, Lana brings understanding of both the regulatory framework and its practical application. Before joining RBC, she was with Deloitte, where she advised global financial institutions and investment funds on U.S.  tax information reporting and withholding issues, as well as FATCA, CRS, QI and QDD compliance.

Earlier in her career, she managed operations teams in Schedule II banks in Canada, with responsibility for various information and regulatory reporting.

Lana holds a J.D. with a concentration in taxation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Delaware.
