
Kimberly Genobles
Kimberly “Kim” Genobles is a financial services executive and compliance generalist with 20+ years of experience in leading teams (large in scope) supporting privacy, compliance, and operations.
Kim joined Ally in July of 2018 as the Chief Privacy Officer and was appointed the HIPAA Privacy Officer in 2019. She oversees Ally’s Privacy and HIPAA Compliance and Programs, including development and management of privacy governance documents and routines, compliance advisement, consumer facing disclosures, workforce training, executive/committee reporting, Board reporting, risk assessments, issues management, data subject access requests, regulation implementation, and privacy and cyber event response to individuals and regulators.
Kim’s experience also includes leading IT Compliance and consulting for large data and security initiatives, such as data transformation and intelligence, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data aggregation components. She’s also versed in GRC philosophy and third-party risk management.
Prior to joining Ally, she was the Privacy Officer for Regions Bank (2 yrs.) and held a myriad of roles with Bank of America (20 yrs.) spanning customer service, business continuity, incident response, and privacy operations.
She has been a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) since 2006. Kim was instrumental in standing up, and Co-Chairing, the first IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter in Birmingham, AL while at Regions Bank. She continues serve the IAPP as a member and Co-Chair of the Charlotte KnowledgeNet Chapter and is an active participant in panels and roundtables across the industry and with her peers. Kim holds two Privacy certifications: Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and Certificated Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). As a result of her certification, tenure in Privacy, and peer recommendations, she was designated as a Fellow in of Information Privacy (FIP) in 2018 by the IAPP.
Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a Major in Finance, from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Kim works in Charlotte, NC and resides in Fort Mill, SC.
