
Kate Lesker
Kate Lesker is a Senior Special Counsel for the Office of Chief Counsel, Division of Examinations at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Kate supports exam staff by providing legal guidance and resources, advises on agency matters impacting the Division, and collaborates on a range of complex legal issues. Kate joined the Commission in 2021 as a Special Counsel for the Office of Sales Practices in the Office of Chief Counsel, Division of Trading and Markets. The Office of Sales Practices addresses a broad range of broker-dealer issues, including supervision, anti-money laundering compliance, and business conduct obligations of security-based swap dealers. Previously, she was an Associate General Counsel for the Investigations & Enforcement group at Interactive Brokers LLC. Prior to serving as in-house counsel, Kate was at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where she represented clients in securities enforcement matters and completed a secondment at a major international financial institution, advising on a range of money laundering, bribery and corruption, and sanctions matters. Kate earned her BA and JD from The George Washington University.
