Jonathan Sokobin

Executive Vice President & Chief Economist, FINRA

Jonathan Sokobin, Chief Economist and Executive Vice President, Regulatory Economics and Market Analysis, leads teams that perform regulatory policy and market assessments to inform FINRA’s mission of protecting investors and safeguarding market integrity. In addition to conducting research on the securities industry and markets, he and his teams track and assess the impact of technology and innovation in the securities industry, analyze the regulatory impact of current and potential rulemaking, and develop new approaches to support regulatory operations such as surveillance, examination, and enforcement.

Mr. Sokobin was named as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation in 2024.

He received his Ph.D. and MBA in finance from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago, and his bachelor’s degree in economics from the Ohio State University.
