John Dalton

John Dalton is VP of Research at the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT). FCAT is an independent business unit comprised of a dedicated team of engineers, developers and researchers focused on exploring the emerging technologies and sociocultural trends that will matter most to Fidelity’s future. As VP of Research John leads a team of analysts that cover emerging user interfaces, artificial intelligence, neurotechnology, and the future of computing. John’s team also explores the changing shape of online identity and evolving notions of personal security, longevity, and belonging.

Before joining Fidelity John was Research Director at Forrester where he led the firm’s customer experience practice. Before that, he was managing director at Upland Productions, a boutique video production firm that specializes in exploring how engineers and scientists pursue innovation in their domains.

John has a PhD in English from UCLA, where he studied medieval literature, iconography, and narratology.
