Jay Krawitz

Senior Policy Adviser, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Jacob “Jay” Krawitz is a Senior Policy Adviser to the Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management (IM). He has more than 20 years of experience in financial services regulation, policy development, compliance, and enforcement, with a focus on oversight of the asset management industry.

Jay previously served as Acting Policy Director and Policy Counsel to the SEC Chair, where he advised on the Commission’s policy and rulemaking agenda. He has also held key roles within IM’s Rulemaking Office and Chief Counsel’s Office, and served as a Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement’s Asset Management Unit.

Jay holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University. He is a former U.S. Army field artillery Captain.
