Jim Mangan is a Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of the Legal and Compliance Division at Morgan Stanley. As Head of US Litigation, he is responsible for all civil litigation, government enforcement and internal investigations in the Americas for the Institutional Securities and Investment Management businesses. He previously served as head of Asia Litigation for Morgan Stanley, based in Hong Kong. Jim joined Morgan Stanley in 2001 from Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he represented clients in securities and antitrust matters.
Jim is a summa cum laude graduate of Georgetown University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Jim was a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph McLaughlin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York.
