Gumer C. Alvero
President – Wealth Management Products and Solutions, Ameriprise Financial, Inc.
Gumer Alvero is responsible for leading the Ameriprise Financial Wealth Management Products and Solutions group and RiverSource Insurance and Annuity product lines. This includes the delivery of compelling solutions for clients through brokerage, advisory, retail retirement, and all third-party product provider relationships. Within RiverSource, Alvero also oversees the end-to-end experience for Ameriprise clients and advisors, spanning product development and management, sales and marketing programs, and new business and in‑force service.
Alvero has been with Ameriprise Financial for more than 30 years, most recently as President – RiverSource Insurance & Annuities. Prior to that, he held a variety of leadership positions within Ameriprise.
Alvero earned a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree, both from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He serves on the boards of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC (the introductory broker dealer for Ameriprise) and American Enterprise Investment Services, Inc. Alvero is a voting member of the Ameriprise Risk Management Committee, currently serves on the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), and previously served on boards for RiverSource Distributors, Inc., RiverSource Life Insurance Co. of New York, and RiverSource Life Insurance Company.
