
Cristi Ramón Ochoa
Deputy Securities Commissioner , Texas State Securities Board
Cristi Ochoa has been with the Texas State Securities Board since 2016 and currently serves as its Deputy Securities Commissioner. As Deputy Securities Commissioner Cristi oversees the Registration and Inspections and Compliance Divisions and works on complex legal investigations related to items such as books and records violations, sales practice violations, and fraudulent and inequitable practices.
Cristi also serves as Vice Chair of the Broker Dealer Section for the North American Securities Administrators’ Association (NASAA).
Prior to working for the Board, Cristi worked as a legal intern for the honorable Diana Saldana in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas; as a legal and legislative intern for Cheniere Energy; as an Enforcement Legal Intern at the Securities and Exchange Commission; and most recently as an Assistant Attorney General for the Financial Litigation & Charitable Trusts Division of the Texas Attorney General.
Prior to attending the University of Texas School of Law, Cristi held positions in government and public affairs, most notably with the Texas Governor’s Office and Oncor Electric. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2008, cum lade, with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a concentration in Business Foundations and a minor in Spanish Civilization.
