Charu A. Chandrasekhar

Charu A. Chandrasekhar is a litigation partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and a member of the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense and Data Strategy & Security Groups. Ms. Chandrasekhar has significant experience representing global financial institutions, asset managers, broker-dealers, public companies, and audit and accounting firms in securities-related examinations, enforcement, and compliance matters. She also has substantial advisory experience on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity regulatory compliance and governance. Prior to joining Debevoise, Charu served in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement as an Assistant Regional Director leading investigations involving insider trading, electronic and algorithmic trading, market regulation, cybersecurity, and digital assets. Ms. Chandrasekhar clerked for the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor when Justice Sotomayor sat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Ms. Chandrasekhar received her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School and her B.A. cum laude from Yale University.
