Brian Hennessy
Senior Director, Head of Derivative Middle Office and Operations, New York Life Investment Management
Brian Hennessy is the Senior Director of Derivatives Middle Office and Operations at New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM). In this role, he oversees the full lifecycle of derivatives after trade execution. This includes collaborating with the front office and vendors, trade confirmation, settlement, collateral management, and reconciliation. Brian also plays a key role in navigating the evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring NYLIM’s operational readiness for new and changing rules. He has worked in derivatives since 2008, guiding NYLIM through both pre- and post-Dodd-Frank regulatory environments. In addition to his derivatives responsibilities, Brian leads NYLIM’s Pricing, Cash Forecasting, and Corporate Actions teams.
Brian has been with NYLIM for nearly 20 years, beginning his career at the firm shortly after graduating from Rutgers University, where he earned a double major in Economics and Journalism. He holds an MBA from the Fordham University Gabelli School of Business.
