Brendan T. Reilly

Managing Director, Head of US Corporate Affairs, Barclays

Brendan T. Reilly is managing director and head of corporate affairs for Barclays in the US, where he oversees a holistic and integrated approach to external relations, including strategic policy (supervisory relations, regulatory policy, and public policy), corporate communications, citizenship, events and hospitality, and sustainability. He serves on the firm’s US Executive Committee (management committee for US operations) and Americas Citizenship Council (nonprofit investment and partnerships), in addition to leadership roles at several trade associations, including the board of directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and executive committee of the Bank Policy Institute (BPI).

Before joining Barclays, Reilly was managing director and co-head of the Washington office for JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPMC) from 2011 to 2018. At JPMC, he oversaw public policy engagement with senior government officials and other industry groups during a period of unprecedented reform implementation in the financial sector.

Prior to JPMC, Reilly was managing director and head of government relations for the CRE Finance Council (CREFC,
formerly the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association), working on external affairs (policy, engagement, and press) for its +300 members, including lenders and servicers, investment banks, and leading money managers, pension and mutual funds. At CREFC, Reilly led industry efforts on recovery programs (e.g., liquidity facilities) and financial regulatory reform.

Reilly began his career in public service. He worked on Capitol Hill as senior staff member at the US House Committee on Financial Services (HFSC) under then-Chairman Mike Oxley and Vice Chair Sue Kelly. He also previously was an aide to Reps. Mike Ferguson and Bob Riley, both members serving on the HFSC.

Reilly has a B.A. from Wake Forest University, where he studied political science.
