Aubrey Thacker

Aubrey is Schwab’s Managing Director and Corporate Controller, leading a team of over 160 professionals. He oversees SEC and regulatory reporting, accounting operations, tax, information reporting, accounting policy and internal controls over both financial reporting and compliance.

Prior to joining Schwab, Aubrey spent 15 years with Capital One, serving as Managing VP and Deputy Controller. Before joining Capital One in 1999, he was with Bank One (now JP Morgan Chase) leading their National Securitization Accounting and Reporting team and spent seven years with Signet Banking Corporation (now Wells Fargo) leading the Accounting Research and Specialty Accounting teams. He began his career with Ernst and Young.

Aubrey has his Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Young Americans Center for Financial Education, a group committed to developing the financial literacy of young people with real-life experiences and hands-on education
