Andrew Lelling is a partner in the Investigations & White Collar group at Jones Day, where he specializes in representing companies in government investigations and complex litigation.  He has significant experience defending companies in federal criminal investigations, federal and state regulatory matters, and congressional investigations.  From 2017–2021, Mr. Lelling was the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, capping a 20-year career at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he focused primarily on financial fraud and transnational crime. As U.S. Attorney, Mr. Lelling led several high-profile initiatives, including the nationwide college admissions scandal (Operation Varsity Blues) and the largest single-bank settlement of RMBS-related claims arising from the financial crisis of 2008-2009. Mr. Lelling also teaches trial advocacy at Boston-area law schools.  He graduated cum laude from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994 and received his B.A. in Literature & Rhetoric from SUNY Binghamton in 1991.
