Akiko Yamahara

Akiko Yamahara is the Global General Counsel for the Wealth business and a member of the Legal Management Committee at Citi. She joined Citigroup in 2003 in Tokyo and subsequently moved to London and New York. Over the years, her coverage areas included the investment bank in Japan, the EMEA consumer bank and the global private bank businesses. She also chairs Citi Legal’s One Legal Forum coordinating employee engagement activities, talent initiatives, pro bono events and training for the lawyers. She also serves on the Steering Committee for Citi’s Asian Heritage Network for Citi and represents Citi at National Women’s Law Center.

Prior to joining Citi in 2003, Akiko worked at A&O Shearman and Davis Polk & Wardwell. She currently serves on the Board of Overseers at Temple University Japan.
