
Ahmed Abdul-Jaleel

Ahmed Abdul-Jaleel is the Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President of Compliance at Empower Capital Management, LLC and Empower Funds, Inc., where he oversees compliance strategy, regulatory policy, and governance reporting. He brings more than two decades of leadership experience in regulatory oversight, financial services, and auditing. Previously, Ahmed spent 15 years at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Examinations. As Assistant Regional Director, he led teams of attorneys, accountants, and finance professionals in examinations and investigations that resulted in more than $10 million in penalties, disgorgements, and recoveries. He also led several national working groups, including initiatives focused on senior investor protection, public pensions, valuation practices, and exam process improvements. His collaborative work extended to coordinating with the U.S. Department of Justice, FBI, Treasury, and other regulatory and enforcement agencies. Ahmed began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP where he became an Audit Manager specializing in financial services. He managed audit engagements for investment advisers, investment companies, private equity funds, and real estate investment vehicles, while also contributing to firmwide training, quality assurance, and performance management processes. Ahmed is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and holds a B.S. in Accountancy with high honors from DePaul University. He has delivered keynote addresses and lectures on securities regulation, compliance priorities, investor protection, and data analytics at universities, industry conferences, and regulatory seminars nationwide.
