Course Description

The 21st century has and will continue to see a revolution in the way we think about money. In this session, financial historian and legal scholar Peter Conti-Brown will provide an overview of what money is, where it comes from, and where it is going. He will focus on the who, what, and why: who are the institutions that are leading the way on fintech; what they are trying to accomplish; and why are they innovating in the ways that we see? Topics include central bank digital currency, payments innovations, and debates about fintech charters.
