Course Description

Amongst the various aspects of our who we are, our generation is one of the most powerful (and sometimes understated) dimensions of our identity. Our generational persona shapes our worldview, values, and behavior; it also affects how we relate to work, leadership, and teamwork. In this course, we examine the origins of our different generational values, including the formative experiences that have most influenced us.

While many SII students have attended a generational training before SII, our course is more nuanced and psychological in nature - informed by Yael Sivi’s experience as a psychotherapist and executive coach. With the use of live surveys and engaging videos, we aim to have interactive discussions - including a look at the tensions and judgments many of us hold about generations other than our own. Less about making stereotypes and more about building awareness, this course looks at the strengths and shadows of each generational cohort. We help leaders develop their “generational intelligence”, including how to engage and inspire staff - from Boomers to Gen X to Millennials to Gen Z.
