Course Description

Do you prefer to communicate directly, emphasize facts over feelings?  Are you more animated in your delivery?  Do you take your listener’s feelings into account?  Do you like to think first and then speak?  Whatever your preference, what impact does your communication style have on others in the workplace whether one-on-one or in group meetings?  How can you make the most of assets and downplay the liabilities of your communication style?  Complete the HRDQ What’s My Communication Style questionnaire as pre-work, and this session will help you identify your dominant communication style and give you the opportunity to see your style in action so that you can make the most of assets and downplay liabilities.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand key dimensions of communication style.
  • Identify individual preferences.
  • Practice making the most of assets and downplaying liabilities.
