US Quarterly Highlights, Third Quarter 2016

Long-term securities issuance totaled $1.95 trillion in 3Q’16, a 1.5 percent increase from $1.92 trillion in 2Q’16 and a 20.0 percent increase year-over-year. Municipal, Treasury, corporate, and asset backed securities’ issuance decreased quarter-over-quarter but asset classes experienced an increase in issuance year-over-year.
