Michael Walsh

Michael Walsh is Deputy Head of Global Business Solutions for Capital Markets activities in the Americas. In this role his areas of focus are: Fixed Income IT and Operations as well as IT/Operations for the Cross Assets Backoffices, Funds Transfer and Collateral Management teams. Michael oversees teams in the United States, Canada and Brazil.

Michael Walsh has 40 years of financial services industry experience in IT/ Operations. Prior to joining Société Generale in 2006, he worked at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Robert Fleming Inc., Lehman Brothers, and Commerzbank in various IT/operational managerial roles. During his career he had some overseas assignments in London, Hong Kong and Frankfurt.

Michael also has worked for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), currently known as FINRA, as a Director of Product Development. In this capacity, he worked on several regulatory initiatives including automating corporate bond trade reporting and private placement 144A registrations.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a minor in Accounting from Lehman College. He has also received a Certificate of Merit from Wharton School of Business for his participation in a three-year program sponsored by the Securities Industry Association. Michael has also successfully obtained five regulatory licenses during his career.

Michael is currently a member of SIFMA’s Operations and Technology Steering Committee and the Co-Chair of the Broadridge Advisory Board.
