Maureen Lewis

Maureen Lewis is the Interim Global General Counsel for Litigation, Regulatory Enforcement and Investigations at HSBC Holdings plc, where she oversees the contentious litigation and regulatory enforcement portfolio for HSBC globally and manages teams of specialist attorneys responsible for providing legal advice on employment and benefits law, financial crime compliance law and competition law. She previously served as HSBC’s Head of Global Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement, a global team that leads matters involving significant government-facing and internal investigations.

Prior to joining HSBC, Maureen was a Director and Senior Counsel in Deutsche Bank AG’s litigation and regulatory enforcement group. She also worked for several years at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, New York Regional Office, where she served as a Regional Assistant Director in the Enforcement Division.  Maureen began her legal career at Davis Polk & Wardwell as a litigation associate after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Ronald Lee Gilman on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She graduated from Stanford Law School and Georgetown University.
