Matthew Bunda

Matthew Bunda is a Director and Associate General Counsel at Citigroup Inc., where he is responsible for major regulatory investigations and class action litigation on a global scale involving the DOJ, SEC, CFTC, FRBNY, OCC, FINRA, other regulatory agencies, and private plaintiffs. Matt has deep expertise in securities law, broker-dealer regulation, swaps and derivatives, and antitrust law, and serves as a senior advisor to an array of Citi businesses both during and before disputes arise. Prior to joining Citi, Matt was a senior associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he handled numerous assignments for leading global financial institutions, multinational corporations, and individuals involving a broad range of subject matters. After law school, Matt served as a law clerk to the Honorable Deborah L. Cook on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Matt graduated Order of the Coif from Washington University Law School, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Washington University Law Review, and won numerous academic awards. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Notre Dame’s Program of Liberal Studies, a multi-disciplinary program focusing on philosophy, theology, literature, and the history of science.
